I finally got all the prerequistes in place and build the project.

So when ran the start services.bat file and entered instead of seeing the site i got "Cannot open database "AspNetDB" requested by the login. The login failed.
Login failed for user 'NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE'. "

Anyone got any ideas. Im running Vista Ultimate 32bit by the way...

Just a note the Kiosk app runs fine its just the website part. It fails here c:\Dinnernow\solution\DinnerNow - Web\Dinnernow\LoginControl.ascx.cs liine Line 22
>> MembershipUser user = Membership.GetUser();

Just wondering did anyone hit the same problem and solve it?

I changed the identity of the DefaultAppPool to LocalSystem and that worked (Administrative Tools - IIS Admin - Application Pools, DefaultAppPool-Advanced Settings, then change Identity property (under Process Model). Perhaps not the most secure way, but to get it working for a demo, it suffices.

Also Cheers.

That worked perfectly. Thanks a lot :-)

Just give Network Service permissions on the aspnetdb database and the role membershipbasicaccess.

Your mileage may vary and I haven't gone through all the portions of the demo yet.
